Today, we carry forward those traditions with handcrafted sourdoughs, artisan pastries, and homestyle cakes—all made fresh daily without preservatives, using the best ingredients we can source, often from local suppliers.

Our journey began decades ago when baking was more than a trade—it was a way of life.
In the 1960s, our grandfather baked and sold bread in Portugal, passing his knowledge to our father, who mastered the craft as a teenager.
That heritage now lives on in Clapham, where we opened SweetSmile Bakery & Patisserie in December 2019 with one goal: to bring the love, care, and authenticity of homemade baking to our community.
We launched just before the pandemic, and it was our loyal customers—parents, school staff, local families, and event-goers—who helped us weather that storm. Their support inspires us to keep delivering food that’s honest, delicious, and made with heart.
